Hotel Accommodations for Guest

With more brides having destination weddings, the concern for hotel accommodations comes up. There are several ways to handle the situation. Some couples allow their guest to find their own accommodations for their stay. Other couples allow their guest to choose from two or three hotels, that the couple have arranged room blocks with.

Room blocks can be made with the hotel’s sales department. Some hotels require the couple to sign a contract stating that you will reserve x amount of rooms, if those rooms are not used you will need to pay for the rooms not used. Other hotels require the couple to sign a contract stating that you will reserve x amount of rooms by a certain date, if those rooms are not reserved by the date, the rooms will be dropped.

Just make sure to check with the hotel to obtain their rules on room blocks.

Finding the Perfect Reception Location

Finding the perfect location can be hard. There are lots of locations in the Nashville area and outside, that can work for your event.

Consider these things when choosing your reception site: Will the venue fit the theme of your wedding? When you think about your wedding, does the venue fit into what you where looking for?

Does the venue provide tables and chairs, or will you need to rent them? Is there suitable parking for guest? Will the venue hold the amount of guest you are having? Will you be able to bring in your own vendors or will you have to use the venue’s preferred list? Will there be other events taking place that day? What is included in the rental fee? Is there a food and beverage minimum that you have to make?

Those are just a few of the questions that you should ask. Don’t be afraid to ask questions, you want to make sure you have all of the details when choosing your location.

Chic Color Selections-Yellow, Silver, & White

Each week I am going to have a new chic color combination for weddings. This selection is my favorite for outside weddings. There are so many things you can do with these colors. Here are a few options:

Gray groomsmen suits with yellow boutonnieres

Silver bridesmaids dresses with yellow flower bouquets

All white linens with yellow centerpieces and accents of silver

Yellow drinks during cocktail hour

Try this color selection with your wedding and guest will not be disappointed.

Valet Services- “Who pays?”

Some reception sites provide parking for the guest and others don’t. So the couple must decide, should we pay for our guest or let them pay. I personally think the couple should pay for their guest valet, but you may not have it in your budget.

If guest must pay for their valet, you need to include this information in the invitation with the prices. This will eliminate guest from arriving to your wedding, not knowing they will need to take care of the valet service.
