Wedding Recap

I recently underwent some schooling with The Wedding Institute through TSU to obtain a certificate. I am happy to announce that I finished & now have a certificate as a Certified Wedding Planner.

Here are a few detail pictures from a wedding I did back in May 2008. This bride won my services at last years Franklin Bridal Ball & I was very happy to work with her. Their ceremony and reception was held at Lillie Belles in Franklin. With Angie Sliger as their photographer, she did a fabulous job.

Stephanie with Sweetest Day provided the bridal cake.

The brides mother arranged all the florals.

I know a lot of people give me a hard time for giving my services away to couples at bridal show drawings, but I enjoy helping couples with their weddings that may not have had the budget for a planner.

Party Recap

As mentioned, I am back to tell the details of the party. It was a End of the year party for a company in Nashville. I worked with the owners wife, to plan an event all the employees would enjoy. The party took place at their home, we decided the colors would be gold, chocolate brown, deep red, & orange. Since those colors worked well with the colors that were already in their home.

The party was to start in the foyer with passed hor d' ouvres provided by Menu Maker Catering, with a full bar in the dining room.

The host requested that dinner be out on her covered patio, so I rented lots of heaters, so that guest would be comfortable. Plan B was to move it into the house. After cocktails, we decided to just move it inside, to ensure everyone would be comfortable for dinner. Menu Maker Catering provided the guest with a plated meal.
Since it was a small party, we added the guest name to the menus, to take the place of place cards. The menus were designed by Nicole Nickolas Design.

I rented the linens from Connie Duglin Linens. They have a wide selection of linens. I decided to do a Honey Gold pintuck with a Chocolate Organza running vertical down the tables, with chocolate satin napkins. Nicole Nickolas Design also provided the flower arrangements. I wanted orange to be the accent color.

All the rentals came from Classic Party Rental. For dessert, the hostess had watched a show on Style network called Peter Perfect. Peter visited a bakery called For Heavens Cakes, she was very impressed with the cakes, so we called the place & had them deliver their cakes bites for the party. They were a hit, all the guest enjoyed them. The event turned out perfectly!!!

Special Events & Parties

With the wedding season winding down, I am moving into more special events. I am currently planning an "End of the Year Party" for the weekend. I've only had three weeks to plan, but I love a challenge. I will post pictures & details after the party.

These days more people will be hosting parties & special events. Here are a few tips that I tell my clients:
-Don't stress yourself out by feeling like you have to make all of your entrees. Ask your guest to bring things or buy ready made meals.
- Remember you are the hostess, take a little time for yourself before the party to get ready.
- Sending email invitations are fine, for a small event at your home.
- Add personal touches to your event, your guest will enjoy it.

Here are some sites that I love, to help you with your parties.
